Classic Ceylon — the 7-Day Sri Lanka Tour

Cultural Triangle, Kandy, the hill-country train, a Yala leopard safari and Galle Fort — the island's greatest hits in one unhurried private week.

Day by day

How the week unfolds

This is our starting route — every departure is rebuilt around your dates, pace and interests before anything is confirmed.

DAY1

Arrival · Negombo

Name-board meet & greet at Bandaranaike International Airport, then a short 15-minute drive to Negombo. Recover from the flight by the beach, walk the Dutch canal and fish market if you land early, and plan the week ahead with your guide over dinner.

Beach evening
DAY2

Sigiriya & Dambulla

Drive into the Cultural Triangle. Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the cooler afternoon light — the 5th-century sky palace and UNESCO site — and visit the golden cave temples of Dambulla, painted floor to ceiling across five caves.

UNESCO x2
DAY3

Kandy via Matale

Head south through spice-garden country to Kandy, the last royal capital. Evening puja at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, then a walk around Kandy Lake and the old town's market streets.

Temple of the Tooth
DAY4

The famous train to Ella

Board the hill-country train at Peradeniya or Nanu Oya for the ride consistently rated among the world's most beautiful — tea carpets, cloud forest, arched bridges. Your guide drives ahead with the luggage and meets you at Ella station.

Scenic train
DAY5

Ella → Yala

Morning walk up Little Adam's Peak and photos at Nine Arch Bridge as the train crosses. After lunch, descend from the hills past Rawana Falls to the dry-zone safari country around Yala.

Nine Arch Bridge
DAY6

Yala safari · Galle

Dawn game drive in Yala National Park — the densest leopard population on earth, plus elephants, sloth bears and crocodiles. Afternoon drive along the south coast to Galle's 17th-century Dutch fort for a rampart sunset walk.

Leopard country
DAY7

Galle → departure

A slow fort morning — coffee in the lanes, the lighthouse, last souvenirs — then the expressway back to the airport or Colombo. Timed to your flight, with a Mirissa beach stop if hours allow.
